Description
Hand Spun Natural Alpaca Lace Yarn
Hand Spun Natural Alpaca Lace Yarn 50g (±250m) is a high-quality, very fine handspun alpaca yarn, perfect for lace knitting or crochet projects. Why not try an Orenburg or Shetland type lace shawn. These shawls have an interesting quality – as they are knitted in such super fine yarns, it should be possible to pull the completed shawl through a wedding ring. With its natural colour, it adds an elegant touch to any creation. Each skein contains approximately 50g of yarn, providing around 250 meters of length. 100% Baby alpaca, hand-processed, hand spun natural coloured alpaca yarn. Laceweight yarn 50g (±250m).
Hand-processed, hand spun natural coloured alpaca yarn, hypoallergenic, next to skin quality. Please note that being natural and undyed, slight variations in colour, fiber length, and lustre may occur. Lighter colors are suitable for overdyeing.
Baby alpaca classification.
As this is a natural-coloured fibre, and colours even differ from one area to another on the same alpaca, slight fluctuations in depth of shade will occur throughout the yarn. This is part of the magic of Nature’s palette and cannot be considered a flaw. Tiny flecks of VM (vegetable matter) may still be playing hide-and-seek in the yarn, but will drop out during further processing (weaving, knitting, crochet etc), and in the first wash.
Please order enough yarn for your project, as it will be impossible to match colours exactly afterwards. Once a particular fleece is sold out, there is no way to get that exact shade, and even the next year’s fleece of the same animal will always be slightly different.
Based on the nature of our products, your yarn will be spun once your order is confirmed and paid, to ensure the correct fibre weights are blended for the least colour fluctuations. Please keep in mind that moisture levels may delay drying of the fibre during cold and wet periods. Large orders may also take slightly longer to spin up, but it will be SO worth it!
